Nordcrewing Lanka (Private) Limited is a licensed Seafarer Recruitment & Placement Service provider serving the Sri Lankan seafaring community. It was established in 2024 and is a joint venture between Reederei NORD GmbH., a German family owned ship owner and manager with over 60 years of experience in shipping and Manaco Marine Pvt Ltd., a Sri Lankan marine service provider spearheaded by Capt. Nalin Peiris, a veteran in the local seafarer manning industry.
Reederei NORD GmbH has been active in recruiting Sri Lankan seafarers for over 4 decades providing employment opportunities for all ranks of seafarers in their fleet of ships which include container ships, bulk carriers, oil tankers and chemical tankers. Nordcrewing Lanka (Private) Limited has been established to nurture sustainable seagoing opportunities for the Sri Lankan seafaring community, particularly young cadets and trainees thus further increasing the crew pool whilst establishing a firm footprint in Sri Lanka as a committed employer of Sri Lankan seafarers.

Capt. Nalin Peiris, who is a Director of Nordcrewing Lanka (Private) Limited is a Master Mariner with over four decades of experience in shipping. He started his career with the Ceylon Shipping Corporation in 1975 and subsequently joined Christian F. Ahrenkiel GmbH & Co.KG Reederei, Hamburg and Coldwell Ship Management Ltd., Hong Kong.
He is also the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Manaco Marine (Pvt) Ltd, a licensed SRPS and Port Agency service providing Company in Sri Lanka. He is also serving as Vice Chairman in the ICCSL (International Chamber of Commerce-Sri Lanka) Executive Committee.
In the past he has served in the Executive Committees of the CASA (Ceylon Association of Ships’ Agents), Sri Lanka German Business Council and presently holds the position of Chairman of the NUSTL (National Union of Seafarers Trust Fund) representing the IMEC.
Capt. Harsha Perera, who is a Chief Operating Officer of Nordcrewing Lanka (Private) Limited, is a Master Mariner with over four decades of experience in the maritime industry, He began his career as an Officer Cadet at Ceylon Shipping Corporation in 1984. He progressed through the ranks and ultimately assumed command as Master in 1997. During his career, Capt. Perea sailed with several renowned companies, including Ceylon Shipping Corporation, Wilhelmsen Ship Management (formerly Barber Ship Management), Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Japan, and Maersk Containers.
In addition to the sea-going experience, he also contributed to maritime education as a visiting lecturer at the University of Moratuwa (Sri Lanka) and the Colombo International Nautical and Engineering College (CINEC) between 2004 and 2005. In 2016, he transitioned to a shore-based role, joining Ceyline Shipping Ltd. as Marine Personnel Superintendent and later took on the role of Chief Operating Officer at Ceyline Shipping Ltd. in 2023, where he played a key role in improving operational efficiency and crew management.
Mr. Kesara Jayakody serves as the Crew Manager of Nordcrewing Lanka (Private) Limited and holds an MSc in Logistics and Supply Chain Management. He has over a decade of experience in the maritime industry and specialises in marine surveying, navigation and logistics management. His career began as a Navigation Officer, where he honed his skills in maritime operations before expanding his expertise as a Marine Surveyor. He had the privilege of working with Intertek Caleb Brett in New Zealand to ensure vessels complied with international safety and regulatory standards. He joined Manaco Marine (Pvt) Ltd and served as a Marine Personnel Superintendent prior to taking up his current role.
